Role Responsibilities

As an SDET at Sophos, you will be part of the NSG (Network Security Group) team working on Firewall Management and Reporting (FMR) and Central Licensing systems. Your daily tasks will include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks for product features in Central Management and Reporting.
• Developing reliable test scripts in Java or Python to speed up feedback loops during development cycles.
• Creating detailed test plans and test scenarios by understanding system architecture and customer use cases.
• Performing both API automation and UI automation using tools like Selenium and TestNG framework.
• Leveraging modern AI tools to boost daily testing processes for both functional and non-functional test cases.
• Setting up and managing manual network test setups to execute protocol-level testing.
• Reporting bugs accurately in tracking tools, analyzing standard logs, and working closely with developers to close issues quickly.

Eligibility & Skill Requirements

Sophos is looking for candidates with strong foundational skills in automation testing and quality engineering. Here is what you need to qualify:

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech, B.E, M.Tech, MCA, or M.Sc in Information Technology/Computer Science.
• Work Experience: 1 to 2 years of solid hands-on experience in quality assurance and test automation.
• Programming & Automation: Good exposure to Java or Python programming, along with hands-on experience in Selenium and TestNG framework.
• API & UI Testing: Sound knowledge of test automation strategies for REST APIs and web UI elements.
• Cloud Awareness: Basic working knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-hosted application testing.
• Networking Concepts: Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and SD-WAN is a big plus.
• Tools Knowledge: Experience using industry tools like Jira, TestRail, GitHub, and Jenkins for continuous integration.
