About AryaXAI and Lexsi Labs
Lexsi Labs, operating under the AryaXAI ecosystem, is a frontier AI research lab dedicated to building safe, interpretable, and aligned AI solutions for real-world deployment. As modern AI transitions from simple text generation to autonomous execution, safety, transparency, and auditability have become absolute top priorities.
The engineering environment at Lexsi Labs is fast-paced, highly research-driven, and practical. Instead of working inside rigid silos, interns and full-time researchers work side-by-side on complex problems involving structured data, foundational research, and agentic systems. If you like turning open-ended problems into production-grade systems, this team provides an environment where high ownership leads directly to impactful outcomes.
Understanding the Role & tracks
This internship program is structured around three main technical tracks. Depending on your background, interest, and core strengths, you will get to work across one or more of these areas:
- 1. Applied Agentic AI Track: Focuses on building high-impact enterprise agents that can reason over multi-step workflows, query complex dataset schemas, interact with external tools, and execute decisions reliably. You will build prototypes that transition directly into enterprise product features.
- 2. Agent R&D and Evaluation Track: Focuses on research challenges such as agent harness architecture, long-horizon planning, alignment, and failure mode analysis. You will help build benchmarking frameworks and contribute to papers, technical write-ups, or open-source research tooling.
- 3. Product & Tooling Track: Focuses on creating internal tooling that boosts researcher and developer productivity. This includes working on specialized systems like the AlignTune Agent or AI Scientist-style tools that automate hypothesis testing and experiment debugging.
Key Responsibilities
As an AI Agent Engineer Intern, your daily work will include a dynamic mix of software engineering, experimentation, and research evaluation:
- Explore open-ended AI challenges and quickly write clean code to construct initial prototypes.
- Design robust evaluation pipelines to stress-test agent planning, tool usage, memory, and reasoning capabilities.
- Identify failure points in agentic workflows and iterate on prompt structures, tool bindings, and system architectures.
- Document engineering experiments, benchmarking results, and architectural trade-offs systematically.
- Collaborate directly with researchers, data engineers, and product designers to convert research concepts into operational code.
Eligibility Criteria & Skills Required
AryaXAI is seeking curious, self-driven candidates who love building and testing AI systems. Here is what they are looking for:
- Programming Proficiency: Solid foundations in Python programming and standard backend software development principles.
- Hands-on AI Experience: Prior exposure to building projects using Large Language Models (LLMs), APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models like Llama), or vector databases.
- Core Concepts Interest: Genuine interest in AI safety, interpretability, agent harnesses, or structured evaluation methods.
- Problem Solving: Ability to navigate open-ended research questions without needing step-by-step instructions.
- Bonus Qualifications: Experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI), backend systems, long-horizon planning experiments, or active contributions to AI research papers and open-source repos.
Why Apply for This Internship?
Unlike routine internships where candidates spend months fixing minor bugs, this opportunity places you directly at the cutting edge of modern AI deployment. You get to build systems that operate autonomously while keeping strict standards on auditability and alignment. It is an outstanding platform to build a strong portfolio, publish technical findings, and gain practical experience in AI systems engineering.
Selection Process
The selection workflow at AryaXAI usually includes the following steps:
- Resume & Project Screening: Initial review of your GitHub profile, AI projects, research papers, or relevant coursework.
- Technical Assessment: A practical task or coding discussion centered around Python, agent workflows, prompt design, or system evaluation.
- Technical Interview: Deep dive into your project architecture, problem-solving approach, and knowledge of LLM agent patterns.
- HR / Cultural Fit Discussion: Conversation regarding team alignment, work schedule, and track placement.
