Detailed Role Description & Daily Responsibilities

As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee in the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division, you will be deeply involved in product design and manufacturing support. You will work closely with senior mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams to design high-quality components and multi-material assemblies used in commercial vehicles.

  • Concept Creation: Develop innovative design concepts based on prerequisite criteria such as Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Feature (QDCF) guidelines.
  • Conceptual Thinking: Generate creative engineering solutions considering all stakeholder requirements, assembly constraints, and durability expectations.
  • Plastic & Sheet Metal Design: Understand manufacturing constraints for plastic and sheet metal components, including tooling, injection moulding, blow moulding, vacuum forming, press tools, blanking, and forming.
  • Part Modeling & Assembly: Work on part modelling, surfacing, drawing creation, and detailing using advanced CAD software like CATIA V5 or Creo.
  • Geometric Analysis: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, conduct draft analysis, and set plastic part tolerances to ensure smooth production.
  • Proto Manufacturing: Gain exposure to prototype manufacturing methods and secondary operations involved in plastic and sheet metal processing.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Background: Full-time B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering from a recognized university.
