Roles & Responsibilities
As an Associate Engineer at Virtusa, you will be part of an agile software engineering team. Your regular day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in modern programming languages like Java, Python, or C#.
- Collaborating with business analysts, senior developers, and QA engineers to understand system specifications and build functional modules.
- Assisting in the design and maintenance of relational databases, writing queries, and optimizing stored procedures.
- Participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and daily standup calls to discuss progress and blockers.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Degrees: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or equivalent branches, as well as MCA and M.Sc Computer Science graduates.
- Academic Scores: 60% or 6.0 CGPA and above throughout 10th, 12th, and Graduation without active backlogs at the time of joining.
- Year of Passing: 2024, 2025, and 2026 batches are encouraged to apply.
- Willingness to work across different technical domains and flexible to relocate to any Virtusa development center in India.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Core Programming: Strong conceptual clarity in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using Java, C++, or Python.
- Data Structures & Algorithms: Solid fundamentals in arrays, strings, linked lists, trees, sorting, and searching mechanisms.
- Database Knowledge: Practical understanding of SQL queries, joins, indexing, and basic relational schema design (MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle).
- Software Engineering Fundamentals: Basic understanding of Git version control, SDLC phases (Agile/Scrum), and API integration.
- Communication & Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills to articulate technical ideas clearly and work smoothly with cross-functional teammates.
